How far in advance should you order your wedding dress?
We recommend ordering your wedding dress at least six months in advance to allow time for fittings and alterations. However, we can also accommodate rush orders. Please contact us to discuss your timeline.
Where can I try on Gown + Altar designs?
What sizes do you have to try on?
Our sample sizes range from 8-12 with the most popular styles also sampled in sizes 14-18 and a few size 24 samples. Our gowns can be made in standard sizes 6-22 or Made to Measure which is our most popular option for brides that can attend fittings in our studio. Can’t try on your exact size? Our team can help you visualise the look of your favourite gown with the use of clips.
What is your price range?
Our wedding dress collection ranges from $1500-$5000 with most of our gowns sitting around $3000-$4000. Tops and skirts range from $595-$2000. Veils $280-$650
Do you offer an alterations services?
Yes, we offer alterations services for both our collection gowns and dresses purchased elsewhere. Our team of experienced seamstresses will ensure a perfect fit for your special day. Read more about our alterations services here
What should I bring to my bridal appointment?
We recommend bringing along any inspiration images you have, as well as any undergarments and shoes you plan to wear on your wedding day if you have already purchased these. It’s also helpful to bring along any family or friends whose opinion you value.
Can I purchase a wedding dress online?
Yes, we have made it really easy to purchase your wedding dress online. Please get in touch if you need more information or help with selecting your size before ordering your dream wedding dress.
What is the difference between a bespoke wedding dress and a made-to-measure wedding dress?
A bespoke wedding dress is completely custom-made to your unique measurements and specifications. A made-to-measure wedding dress is created based on a pre-existing pattern that is adjusted to fit your body.
Can I customize a wedding dress?
Yes, we offer a range of customization options for our wedding dresses to create the perfect dress for your special day. Changes like adding straps, changing the neckline, fabric or taking the skirt shape from another design are usually possible.

Can I make changes to a wedding dress after I've placed my order?
It depends on the stage of production. Minor changes may be possible, but major changes may require additional fees. Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss any requested changes.
I have an idea of my dream dress but can't find it anywhere, do you make fully customised wedding dresses?

How much does a bespoke wedding dress cost?
The cost of a bespoke wedding dress depends on a variety of factors, such as the design, fabric, and embellishments. At Gown + Altar, we offer a range of bespoke options to suit different budgets. Do you rent wedding dresses?
Due to the delicate nature of bridal fabrics and the potential for damage re do not rent our gowns. If you are shopping for a wedding dress on a budget check out our sample sale page
