Gown + Altar began as a hobby for founder Isabel, designing and making wedding and bridesmaid dresses for friends. Now, we are a proud team of three talented designers, seamstresses and pattern makers who specialize in creating bespoke bridalwear.

Between bridal consultations we are making your wedding dress or dreaming up new designs, we love what we do!

Our team has a collective 13 years in the Bridal industry and have decades of Women’s wear fashion industry. We are passionate about our craft and committed to designing and making gowns for many beautiful brides all over the world, looking for that perfect dress!

ISABEL REID

Isabel is an experienced designer and pattern maker. She has been making wedding dresses since making her own. ‘I couldn’t find the perfect easy summer gown, so decided to make my own. I fell in love with the fabric first, a sheer silk cotton with a delicate embroidery which inspired the design – a simple fitted bodice with a long flowing skirt & thin silk straps.

JANE CARTER

Jane has been working in the fashion industry since she was 16 years old. With over 40 years of experience as a seamstress, pattern maker, and designer, Jane is our in-house expert! Having been a creative her whole life, she loves making such special pieces for all our beautiful brides.

TAYLOR PUMPHREY

Taylor has a variety of experience in the fashion industry, starting with alterations when she was 14. She was invited to show at NZFW in 2021 as a graduate designer and Miromoda’s top emerging designer. She is passionate about making and designing pieces that will be treasured for a lifetime.
